Bench Mobility Ostrava Czech Republic
The second exchange of experiences took place from 15 to 19 May 2017 in Ostrava in the Czech Republic. This understanding covers the historical development of this topic from "barrier-free tourism" plus "social tourism" to "tourism for all" and today to the so-called "inclusive tourism". All these aspects could be experienced and discussed by the participants during the exchange of experiences during the different visits and the workshop at the end.
The mobility began with a guided tour through Ostrava, where the participants could visit the largest accessible town hall with a lookout tower in the Czech Republic. Afterwards, the participants had the opportunity to get a detailed introduction to the educational specializations of the educational institution AHOL, Secondary School of Tourism on the subject of qualification/vocational training and adult education in tourism. During the discussion, the focus was on the aspects under which the topic of accessibility for all is organised and which approaches are used. In addition to visiting the accommodation facility Mlýn vodníka Slámy, a small company with a special focus on tourism for all, the programme led the participants to the honey cake factory "Marlenka".
How rural tourism is organised, what problems can be solved with accessibility for all, tourism involving minorities and foreigners and much more were the topics of the visit to the park "Landek", a fire brigade museum, the cultural centres "Cooltour" and "Dolní Vítkovice".
Final workshops with Destination Management Moravian-Silesian and Open Space discussions on the projects "FajnOVA/ City of Ostrava" and "In Focus - Project for the Recruitment of Talents" rounded off a successful exchange of experiences.
