PROJECT KICK-OFF OF THE EUROPEAN PROJECT "YOUCAREON"
From March 19 to 23, 2018, the Federal District Dahme-Spreewald hosted the first European exchange of experience on best practices in early stage career orientation
As part of the first experience exchange, the project kick-off meeting took place in the Center for Aerospace in Wildau (Brandenburg), with the aim of sharing best practice experiences on early career guidance for students and young people.
The business development agency Dahme-Spreewald mbH, which hosted and organized the exchange, welcomed in the time from 19.03. until 23.03.2018 in cooperation with the project coordinator, the Center for Innovation and Technology GmbH, the European partners AKMI Educational Organization SA (Greece), INDEO - Fundacion Laboral del Metal (Spain), the Latvian European Community Studies Association (Latvia), DEMOSTENE Centro Studi (Italy) as well as teachers, school directors and administrations from the Land Brandenburg
In cooperation with the Ludwig-Witthöft Oberschule Wildau, the WiFö Dahme-Spreewald organized a project week in which more than 100 students from the ninth grade of the secondary school and the project partners participated in various workshops in almost 40 companies from the Wildau region. The participants got insights in the industry sectors tourism, Health and social affairs, the food industry and aviation, amongst others and could catch up on more than 60 job profiles. Career perspectives, personal and social prerequisites and practical tips were provided by the entrepreneurs to the students and the project participants.
At the end of an interesting and informative week, many students had come a great deal closer to their career aspirations. One or the other may have found the right job for himself or herself after a long search and is going to be a trainee in it.
The project partners started their journey home with many impressions and information about early stage career orientation and their implementation in their own country.
